Well Testing and Completion
Testing is performed at various stages of well construction, completion and operation. The purpose of testing at each stage involves work ranging from characterizing produced fluids and reservoir performance to obtaining a full set of reservoir characteristics. Most well tests can be categorized as production test or formation characteristics test.
- Well productivity tests are performed with the following objectives:
- Identify produced fluids and determine their respective volumetric fractions
- Measure formation pressure and temperature
- PVT sampling (Pressure-Volume-Temperature) that meet analysis requirements
- Determine the well productivity
- Evaluate the efficiency of the well completion
- Evaluate the extent of well damage
- Evaluate the results of well workover or well stimulation activities
